Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Wayllabamba
Pick up early from your hotel and transfer to the train station to take our train to the kilometer 104 of the railway where we will start our walk, visit the first archaeological center called: Chachabamba (2200 masl), after exploring the place We will follow the route to Wiñaywayna (2650 masl) where we will also have our guided tour. We will continue our walk down to Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu Pueblo where we will spend the night, passing by Intipunku (door of the sun), from where we can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Machu Picchu. Dinner and overnight at the hostel.
Day 2: Aguas Calientes -Machu Picchu -Cusco
After breakfast, we start the trekking to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. We will visit with our guide the whole archaeological group in average of 2 and a half hours; we will visit: The Main Square, the Intihuatana, the mortar room, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Temple of the Condor and many other important points in Machu Picchu; then we will have enough free time to travel again in Machu Picchu areas of our greatest interest on our own.
Then go down to the town of Aguas Calientes; Take your food (lunch) and according to the scheduled train return to the city of Cusco. Transfer to your hotel.
