IS THIS TRIP RIGHT FOR YOU?

  • We will visit places that are at high altitude. Some people may suffer from altitude sickness. Altitude sickness can affect anyone regardless of fitness level or age. However our guides will share ways to mitigate these symptoms such as staying hydrated and limiting alcohol intake.
  • There will be early mornings for us to get to our activities on time.
  • Some of the roads can be windy and bumpy.
  • You will need to bring suitable clothing for trekking. You need hiking boots, comfortable outdoor clothing and warm waterproof gear.
  • There will be lots of exploring so you will need to be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time. A moderate level of fitness is required however let us know your needs and we have plenty of ways to adjust the tour to you.
  • The Amazon jungle can have a lot of insects including mosquitoes, be sure to bring strong insect repellent for this part of the trip.
  • The hiking options require a moderate level of fitness as we walk for up to 8 hours a day on mountain paths. Your duffel bag will be carried for you, however you will need to carry a small day pack with your daily water, jacket and snacks.

Itinerary

DAY 1 - LIMA

To make your arrival to Peru stress free, if you have requested a free airport transfer we will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel. Otherwise you can meet us at the hotel where a welcome note will be waiting for you at reception. You will have the rest of the day to relax after your long flight.

DAY 2 - LIMA

We meet at the hotel reception for an orientation at 1pm, this is where you will meet your fellow travellers and dedicated tour guide. At this meeting we will discuss the itinerary. Here we will also collect your next of kin, passport and insurance information.

In the afternoon we head off to explore Lima’s historical centre on a walking orientation. Soak up the bustling vibes of the city while you check out the colonial architecture, Plaza de Armas, government building and cathedral. We finish the orientation with a tour of the catacombs which lie underneath San Francisco Church.

DAY 3 - PARACAS

This morning we drive south through the desert landscapes while catching glimpses of the Pacific coast out the window. We take a stop along the way at Pachacamac to learn about the history of this Inca fortress. We then travel further south to the fishing village of Pucusana. Here we see the fishermen selling their catch in the market stalls. We head out on a small tourist boat for a tour of the bay. We finish our journey in the afternoon, arriving in Paracas where we spend the night.

DAY 4 - NAZCA

We take a tourist boat to the Ballestas islands, known as the Galapagos of Peru. Bird lovers will find this stop a highlight as it has the highest concentration of marine birds in the world. In the 2 hour trip we will hope to see seals, penguins, flamingoes, red footed boobies and pelicans. On our boat journey we can also see the Candelera Inca design etched into the hill side. We then take a drive along the desert coast towards Nazca. We will stop along the way at the Nazca line viewing towers where you can see 3 of the mysteriously created lines. Your guide will tell you some of the theories of their creation and maybe you can decide for yourself.

DAY 5 - AREQUIPA

This morning there is time free or if you would like you can take a flight over the Nazca Lines where you can get a view of all the lines and take some amazing aerial photographs. In the afternoon we take a 9 hour bus to Arequipa also known as the white city, thanks to its architecture where houses are built from light coloured volcanic rock.

DAY 6 - AREQUIPA

Wake to magical views of El Misti, the volcano that watches over the town. This morning we meet a local guide who will take us on a walking orientation of the city centre to help you navigate around the city and to explore the Monasterio de Santa Catalina. This afternoon you will be free to explore the colonial city of Arequipa. You may want to visit the Plaza de Armas and the Junita museum which houses Peru’s ‘ice maiden’.

  • Activities: Walking orientation of Arequipa city centre and entrance to the Santa Catalina Convent.
DAY 7 - CHIVAY

Today we drive 5 hours to the town of Chivay, which will be our base for exploring the Colca Canyon and the National Park. Along the way we will make stops to see Peru’s most famous animals – llamas and alpacas as well as stopping for some coca tea and to view the artisan handicrafts. After arriving in Chivay we will relax and adjust to the altitude of 3600m above sea level.

DAY 8 - CHIVAY

We venture out to see the largest flying bird, the condor soaring through the Colca Canyon which is twice as deep as the Grand Canyon. On the other side of the canyon we can see ancient tombs carved into the hillside. In the afternoon we have the option to take a short walk to the natural thermal baths which sit next to a rushing river. What a way to spend the afternoon!

DAY 9 - PUNO/LAKE TITICACA

Today we drive through the stunning Peruvian Highlands of Altiplano. Along the way we will stop to see highland lakes, the burial towers of Sillustani and if we are lucky, flocks of llamas. Overlooking Lake Titicaca sits the town of Puno. Here the traditional way of life for the local Indian cultures of the Aymara and Quechua is thriving. You will have the afternoon to relax and walk through the cities streets or up to the city view point.

DAY 10 - PUNO

We take a boat tour of Lake Titicaca and explore the man made reed islands and meet the communities who live on and around the lake. We learn from people who live on the islands about how they construct their islands and homes on the lake. We also learn about their history and the bartering system they still use to this day.

DAY 11 - CUSCO

We drive the approximately 10 hour journey to Cusco, the world famous ancient Inca capital city. Even though the drive is long it is beautiful. We take stops along the way including a stop at La Raya Pass at 4313m above sea level, where we can see amazing views across the vallies on both sides. This evening you will have to relax and acclimatise to the altitude (3450m).where Raqchi Inca temple is located.

DAY 12 - OLLANTAYTAMBO/SACRED VALLEY

We travel from Cusco through the Sacred Valley by private minibus to Ollantaytambo. We visit 2 archeological sites, one of Pisac and Ollantaytambo where we can learn about Inca argriculture and religion. Along the way you can see the meandering river and terraces before stopping to view some local handicrafts and have some lunch. Lunch will be a traditional Pacahamanca meal, where the food is wrapped and buried in the ground alongside hot stones before it is dug up for the feast. In the afternoon we have a tour of the ancient Inca ruins in Ollantaytambo that overlook a beautiful view of the whole valley, here the guide will describe the history and customs of the Incas who once lived here.

  • Activities: Traditional Pachamanca meal and a Sacred Valley tour visiting the ruins at Ollantaytambo and Pisac.

DAY 13 - TREKKING OR PISAC (TRAIN OPTION)

Today you leave for your arranged trek. Either to the Inca trail or Inca Quarry Trail. You will be given a duffel bag which can take 6kg of gear, the rest of your bag will be held safely at the hotel in Cusco. The porters will carry your duffel bag ahead of you on the walk and you can access them each night when you arrive at the camp. You will need a daypack to carry your water, snacks, sunscreen and anything you may need during the day.

Option 1 – The Inca Trail: Today you start out on the 43 km trek that leads you to one of the wonders of the world – Machu Picchu. You will be taken by private minivan to the start of the trek. From here there we hike 10km, an estimated 7 hour mainly uphill hike to the campsite which sits at 3100m above sea level. On the way you will marvel at the Incan ruins of Huillca Raccay, Canabanba and Llactapata.

Option 2 – The Inca Quarry Trail: This morning you start on your 26 km hike that reaches 4450 m above sea level. We will take a private minivan to Rafqà where we start our hike and meet our chefs and porters. Along the way we will stop at Chonquequilla, an archelogical site where the Incas worshipped the moon. We walk all morning past small local farming families and beautiful vistas to our first campsite at 3700 m above sea level. Nearby the campsite there is the archaeological site of Q’orimarca that we can explore after relaxing over lunch.

  • Activities: The Inca trail or Inca Quarry Trail with an English speaking guide, professional chefs and porters.
  • Transport: Private minivan to the start of your trek.

Option 3 – Train (no trekking): Today we head to the town of Pisac which has a wonderful market where you can try some local street food or pick up some beautiful handicrafts. After enjoying the market in Pisac we drive back to Cusco in a private minivan.

  • Transport: Private minivan to Pisac and then on to Cusco.
DAY 14 - TREKKING OR TAMBOMACHAY (TRAIN OPTION)

Option 1 – The Inca Trail: Today is the most challenging day of the trek, we will walk 12km in total today starting at 3100m above sea level. At half way after approximately 4 hours we will arrive at our lunch spot at Llactapata where will provide a delicious meal and provide more water for your bottles. We will then walk up a steep track to cross what is known as the ‘Dead Woman’s Pass’ at 4215m above sea level. Here you can see the sweeping views across the Pacaymayo Valley and take the great photo opportunity. You will then descend to the campsite at 3650 m above sea level after approximately 1 hour 45 minutes.

Option 2 – The Inca Quarry Trail: Today we embark on the most challenging day of the hike. In the late morning we should cross the mountain pass of Puccaqasa. Here you can enjoy sweeping views across the valley. We walk across a saddle before crossing the second mountain pass of Kuychicassa at 4450 m above sea level. We descend to our second campsite for the night.

  • Activities: The Inca Trail or The Inca Quarry Trail with an English speaking guide, professional chefs and porters.

Option 3 – Train (no trekking): This morning we take a short taxi ride to the archeological site of Tambomachay. The walk is approximately 4 hours so make sure to wear your walking shoes. From this site we will walk downhill past the archelogical site of Puka Pukara, Q’enqo, Saksaywaman and on the way to Cusco. For the rest of the afternoon you will have free time to explore Cusco as you wish.

  • Activities: Entrance ticket and guide for the archeological sites of Saksaywaman, Puka Puka and Q’enqo.
  • Transport: Taxi.
DAY 15 - TREKKING OR CUSCO (TRAIN OPTION)

Option 1 – The Inca Trail: Today we hike 16km, starting by hiking through the valley before crossing the second mountain pass, Runkurakay Pass which sits at 3980m above sea level. We then descend down to a valley where we explore the Sayacmarca archaeological site. We then cross our last pass at 37000m above sea level, here we find ‘The Town above the Clouds’, Phuyupatamarca at 3550 m above sea level. An approximately 2.5 hour hike down the Inca steps takes us to our campsite next to the Winay Wayna archeological site.

Option 2 – The Inca Quarry Trail: With tired legs from yesterday we complete the downhill walk to the end of the trail. We pass the Kachiqata quarry, which lies unfinished beacuse of the Spanish invasion. We return to Ollantaytambo where we take the glass roofed tourist train to Aguas Calientes, also know as Machu Pichu Town. As you roll by watch the high mountains and flowing river. You will have the afternoon to relax or explore the town of Aguas Calientes which is nestled in the mountains with a beautiful river running along the length of the town.

  • Accommodation: Camping in a 2 person tent with an inflatable mattress on the Inca Trail option. A night in a twin or double hotel room in Aguas Calientes for the Inca Quarry Trail option.
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Option 3 – Train (no trekking): A free day in Cusco to explore. We can give you advice on how to make the most of your remaining free time, including optional activities. Transport to Aguas Calientes will be arranged when you are ready.

DAY 16 - MACHU PICCHU

Option 1 – The Inca Trail: We wake up before the sun today at 3:45am to hike approximately 1.5 hours to the sun gate. We set off early to the final checkpoint which opens at 5:30am to hike the last 2 and a half hour stretch of trail before entering the site through the famous sun gate. Here we can find a spot to take it all in and watch the mist roll through the mountains around Machu Picchu citadel. Now we have the time to take a private tour with your guide who will bring the city to life with his knowledge of this wonder of the world. This afternoon we travel back to Cusco on the glass roofed tourist train to Ollantaytambo. Followed by a private minivan to Cusco.

Option 2 + 3 – Inca Quarry Trail/Train Option: An early rise of 5:30am to make the sunrise over Machu Picchu and beat the heat of the day. We take the 30 minute tourist bus up the winding mountain to Machu Picchu. Here we can find a spot to sit and take it all in. Watch the mist roll through the mountains around the Machu Picchu citadel and the sunrise over the ancient city. Now we have the time to take a private tour with your guide who will bring the city to life with his knowledge of this wonder of the world. This afternoon we travel back to Cusco on the glass roofed tourist train to Ollantaytambo. Followed by a private minivan to Cusco.

Together we take the glass roofed tourist train to Aguas Calientes, also know as Machu Pichu Town. As you roll by watch the high mountains and flowing river. You will have the afternoon to explore the town of Aguas Calientes which is nestled in the mountains with a beautiful river running along the length of the town. This afternoon we travel back to Cusco on the glass roofed tourist train to Ollantaytambo. Followed by a private minivan to Cusco.

DAY 17 - CUSCO

This morning we take a taxi to Sacsayhuaman. Here we explore the ancient fortress and learn about how the Incas fought the Spanish here. This afternoon we will meet for a free city orientation of Cusco. On this orientation we will point out the best tourist spots, museums, resturants and amenities in the ancient Inca capital. We will get go to the chocolate museum and taste some delicious local chocolates.

DAY 18 - CUSCO

A free day to relax and unwind or set out on another adventure – it’s up to you! Your guide can give you directions and advice on how to enjoy the day from pointing you to the best place for an Incan massage, a spot of shopping or a visit a visit to a museum.

DAY 19 - AMAZON JUNGLE

Today we take an early morning flight to Puerto Maldonado in the Amazon jungle. At our partner tourist office we leave our bags in secure lockers and take a small duffel bag (provided) with us for our two nights in the jungle. We then hop in a motorboat and head down the river with your English speaking guide. After disembarking at our jungle lodge we will have time to relax and soak up the scenery.

  • Activities: Motorboat ride on the river through the Amazon jungle.
  • Transport: Airport transfers to and from the airport, flight to Puerto Maldonado.
DAY 20 - AMAZON JUNGLE

We disembark on a trek through the jungle with plenty of stops to see native plants and animals. Depending on the time of year we will take different routes to ensure we get the best chance to spot wildlife. If we are lucky we may spot macaws, swarms of butterflies, monkeys and otters. The trek is long and can be muddy so make sure you pack appropriately and come prepared. The lodge will provide gumboots for your trek to keep your feet dry.

    Itinerary

    DAY 1 - LIMA

    Welcome to Lima! To make your arrival to Peru stress free, if you have requested a free airport transfer we will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel. Otherwise you can meet us at the hotel where a welcome note will be waiting for you at reception. On the first day of the tour we meet at 2PM at the hotel to have our main briefing (please make sure you arrive on time, if there’s a delay to your journey please contact us). This is where you will meet your tour group and dedicated tour leader to discuss the itinerary for the trip. We will also gather your next of kin, passport and insurance information. Make sure you grab a bite to eat before, because after the briefing we head straight into the city for a walking orientation of the historical centre so you can navigate around the city. Your English speaking guide will tell you about the history of Lima and point out the best museums, restaurants and amenities. We will end the tour by exploring the famous catacombs with your dedicated guide.

    DAY 2 - AMAZON RAINFOREST

    Today we take an early morning flight to Puerto Maldonado in the Amazon rainforest. We leave our bags in secure lockers and take a small duffel bag (provided) with us for our two nights in the jungle. We meet up with our local English speaking guide and then hop in a motorboat and head down the river. After disembarking at our jungle lodge we will have time to relax and soak up the scenery.

    • Activities: Motorboat ride on the river through the Amazon jungle, nightwalking tour in the jungle.

    DAY 3 - AMAZON RAINFOREST

    After a 30 min boat ride to an oxbow lake, we disembark on a trek through the jungle with plenty of stops to see native plants and animals. Depending on the time of year we will take different routes to ensure we get the best chance to spot wildlife. If we are lucky we may spot macaws, swarms of butterflies, monkeys and the giant river otter. The trek takes about one hour and depending on the time of year can be a bit muddy so make sure you pack appropriately and come prepared. The lodge will provide gumboots for your trek to keep your feet dry. At night, we will go for another boat ride to try and spot some caymans.

    DAY 4 - CUSCO

    Boat ride to pick up our things. We take a short, early morning flight from Puerto Maldonado to Cusco. Once we arrive at the hotel you will have some time to relax to help you acclimatise to the altitude (3,350m/11,000ft). That afternoon we will meet for a city orientation of Cusco. On this orientation we will point out the best tourist spots, museums, restaurants and amenities in the ancient Inca capital. We will get to go to the chocolate museum and taste some delicious local chocolates. In the evening around 6PM we will have a briefing about the trekking options and provide you with a duffel bag for your hike. The duffel bag can take 6KG of gear, the rest of your bag will be held safely at the hotel in Cusco. The porters will carry your duffel bag ahead of you on the walk and you can access them each night when you arrive at the camp.

    DAY 5 - SACRED VALLEY/OLLANTAYTAMBO

    We travel from Cusco through the Sacred Valley by private minibus to Ollantaytambo. We visit 2 archeological sites, Pisac and Ollantaytambo, where we can learn about Inca philosophy and culture. Along the way you can see the meandering river and terraces before stopping to view some local handicrafts and have some lunch. In the afternoon we have a tour of the ancient Inca site in Ollantaytambo that overlook a beautiful view of the whole valley, here the guide will describe the history and customs of the Incas who once lived here. We stay the night in Ollantaytambo.

    DAY 6 - TREKKING

    Today you leave for your arranged trek. Either to the Classic Inca Trail or the Quarry Trail. You will need a daypack to carry your water, snacks, sunscreen and anything you may need during the day.

    Option 1 – The Inca Trail: Today you start out on the 43 km trek that leads you to one of the wonders of the world – Machu Picchu. You will be taken by private minivan to the start of the trek. From here there is 10km, an estimated 7 hour mainly uphill hike to the campsite which sits at 3100m above sea level. On the way you will marvel at the Incan ruins of Huillca Raccay, Canabanba and Llactapata.

    Option 2 – The Inca Quarry Trail: This morning you start on your 26 km hike that reaches 4450 m above sea level. We will take a private minivan to Rafqà where we start our hike and meet our chefs and porters. Along the way we will stop at Chonquequilla, an archaeological site where the Incas worshipped the moon. We walk all morning past small local farming families and beautiful vistas to our first campsite at 3700 m above sea level. Nearby the campsite there is the archaeological site of Q’orimarca that we can explore after relaxing over lunch.

    DAY 7 - TREKKING

    Option 1 – The Inca Trail: Today is the most challenging day of the trek, we will walk 12 km in total today starting at 3100 m above sea level. At halfway, after approximately 4 hours we will arrive at our lunch spot at Llactapata where we will provide a delicious meal and more water for your bottles. We will then walk up a steep track to cross what is known as the ‘Dead Woman’s Pass’ at 4215m above sea level. Here you can see the sweeping views across the Pacaymayo Valley and take the great photo opportunity. You will then descend to the campsite at 3650 m above sea level after approximately 1 hour 45 minutes.

    Option 2 – The Quarry Trail: Today we embark on the most challenging day of the hike. In the late morning we should cross the mountain pass of Pucca Qasa. Here you can enjoy sweeping views across the valley. We walk across a saddle before crossing the second mountain pass of Kuychicassa at 4450 m above sea level. We descend to our second campsite for the night.

    DAY 8 - TREKKING

    Option 1 – The Inca Trail: Today we hike 16 km. We start by hiking through the valley before crossing the second mountain pass, Runkurakay Pass which sits at 2900 m above sea level. We then descend down to a valley where we explore the Sayacmarca archaeological site. We then cross our last pass at 3700 m above sea level, here we find ‘The Town above the Clouds’, Phuyupatamarca at 3550 m above sea level. An approximately 2.5 hour hike down the Inca steps takes us to our campsite next to the Winay Wayna archeological site.

    Option 2 – The Quarry Trail: With tired legs from yesterday we complete the downhill walk to the end of the trail. We pass the Kachiqata quarry, which lies unfinished because of the Spanish invasion. We return to Ollantaytambo where we take the glass roofed tourist train to Machu Picchu Town. As you roll by watch the high mountains and flowing river. You will have the afternoon to relax or explore the Machu Picchu town which is nestled in the mountains with a beautiful river running along the length of the town.

    DAY 9 - MACHU PICCHU

    Option 1 – The Inca Trail: We wake up before the sun today at 3:45am to hike approximately 1.5 hours to the sun gate. We set off early to the final checkpoint which opens at 5:30am to hike the last 2 and a half hour stretch of trail before entering the site through the famous sun gate. Here we can find a spot to take it all in and watch the mist roll through the mountains around Machu Picchu citadel. Now we have the time to take a private tour with your guide who will bring the city to life with his knowledge of this wonder of the world.

    Option 2 – The Quarry Trail: An early rise of 5:30am to make the sunrise over Machu Picchu and beat the heat of the day. We take the 30 minute tourist bus up the winding mountain to Machu Picchu. Here we can find a spot to sit and take it all in. Watch the mist roll through the mountains around the Machu Picchu citadel and the sunrise over the ancient city. Now we have the time to take a private tour with your guide who will bring the city to life with his knowledge of this wonder of the world. In the afternoon we take the train to Ollantaytambo (1h 45min) or Poroy (3h) and then a private minibus back to Cusco.

    DAY 11 - PUNO

    Today we drive 7 hours on a bus through the stunning Peruvian highlands of Altiplano. Make sure to bring some snacks with you because we will only have short facility break stops. Out the window we can catch a glimpse of Lake Titicaca as we enter the town of Puno. Here the traditional way of life for the local Andean cultures of the Aymara and Quechua is thriving. You will have the afternoon to relax and walk through the city streets.

    DAY 12 - LAKE TITICACA HOMESTAY

    We take a boat tour of Lake Titicaca and explore the man made reed islands and meet the communities who live on the lake. We will explain the history of the reed islands and how they are built. We will continue to a peninsula laying on Lake Titicaca where we will meet the local host family you will be staying with this evening. Enjoy helping the family with the routines of daily life. We then have the chance to play volleyball or other games with the locals and later help them to prepare a delicious meal. Over dinner take the opportunity to practice your Spanish and share your stories with each other.

You will have the afternoon in Puno to relax. Tonight is our last night as a group so you may all want to enjoy a dinner together to reflect and say goodbye.

      Itinerary

      DAY 1 - LIMA

      Welcome to Lima! To make your arrival to Peru stress free, we will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel, just find the sign with our logo or your name. Depending on your time of arrival you will have time to explore Lima, a nice way to spend the morning would be to take a walk along the coastal cliff walkway to Paraque Amor and enjoy the sculptres at the park. Later we meet at 6PM in the hotel to have our first briefing (please make sure you arrive on time, if there’s a delay to your journey please contact us). This is where you will meet your tour group and dedicated tour leader to discuss the itinerary for the trip. We will also gather your next of kin, passport and insurance information.

      DAY 2 - LIMA

      Today we head from our accommodation in Miraflores at 9AM to the city for a tour of the historical centre so you can navigate around the city. Your English speaking guide will tell you about the history of Lima and point out the best museums, restaurants and amenities in the city. We will end the tour by exploring the famous catacombs.

      DAY 3 - AMAZON RAINFOREST

      Today we take an early morning flight to Puerto Maldonado in the Amazon rainforest. At our partner tourist office we leave our bags in secure lockers and take a small duffel bag (provided) with us for our two nights in the jungle. We then hop in a motorboat and head down the river with your English speaking guide. After disembarking at our jungle lodge we will have time to relax and soak up the scenery.

      DAY 4 - AMAZON RAINFOREST

      We take a 30 min boat ride to an oxbow lake. We disembark to go on a trek through the jungle with plenty of stops to see native plants and animals. Depending on the time of year we will take different routes to ensure we get the best chance to spot wildlife. If we are lucky we may spot macaws, swarms of butterflies, monkeys and the giant river otter. The trek can take up to one hour, and depending on the time of year can be muddy so make sure you pack appropriately and come prepared. The lodge will provide gumboots for your trek to keep your feet dry.

Today we get to try the traditional pachamanca meal with local people, where the food is cooked in an earthen oven – a celebration and blessing for Mother Earth. This afternoon we explore to ruins on the mountain overlooking Pisac and learn about the ancient Incas. We finish the day in Ollantaytambo where we will visit an archeological site and see a viewpoint above the city which boasts stunning views of the valley.

        • You will need to bring suitable clothing for trekking. You need hiking boots, comfortable outdoor clothing and warm waterproof gear.
        • There will be lots of exploring so you will need to be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time on uneven ground. A moderate level of fitness is required however let us know your needs and we have plenty of ways to adjust the tour to you.
        • The hiking options require a moderate level of fitness as we walk for up to 8 hours a day on mountain paths. Your duffel bag will be carried for you, however you will need to carry a small day pack with your daily water, jacket and snacks.

        DAY 1 - CUSCO

        To make your arrival to Peru stress free, if you have requested a airport transfer we will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel. Otherwise you can meet us at the hotel where a welcome note will be waiting for you at reception. Day one of the tour starts at 12:30PM with a main briefing at your hotel, please make sure you arrive before that time – if there’s any delay to your journey, please contact us. We will take it easy this day to help you acclimatise to the altitude (3,350m / 11,000ft). At this briefing you will meet your fellow travellers and dedicated tour leader. We will discuss the trip itinerary and also collect your next of kin, passport and insurance information.

        After the briefing, we will take you on a Cusco walking orientation to help you navigate around the city. We will point out the top tourist spots, museums, best restaurants and amenities. We stop by the chocolate museum where we can sample some delicious locally made chocolate. In the evening around 6PM we will meet again for a briefing about the trekking options.

        DAY 2 - CHINCHERO/OLLANTAYTAMBO

        We travel from Cusco by private minibus to Ollantaytambo. It offers an intimate look into the daily life for rural residents, and teaches you about local traditions such as the famous Peruvian weaving. We have lunch here around noon, browse some souvenir handicrafts, and then continue on our way to Ollantaytambo. A visit to the Inca archeological site there is optional.

You will then descend to the campsite at 3650 m above sea level after approximately 1 hour 45 minutes.

        [The Quarry Trail:][1] Today we embark on the most challenging day of the hike. In the late morning we should cross the mountain pass of Pucca Qasa. Here you can enjoy sweeping views across the valley. We walk across a saddle before crossing the second mountain pass of Kuychicassa at 4450 m above sea level. We descend to our second campsite for the night.

        DAY 5 - TREKKING

        The Inca Trail: Today we hike 16 km, starting by hiking through the valley before crossing the second mountain pass, Runkurakay Pass which sits at 3980 m above sea level. We then descend down to a valley where we explore the Sayacmarca archaeological site. We then cross our last pass at 37000 m above sea level, here we find ‘The Town above the Clouds’, Phuyupatamarca at 3550 m above sea level. An approximately 2.5 hour hike down the Inca steps takes us to our campsite next to the Winay Wayna archeological site.

        [The Quarry Trail:][1] With tired legs from yesterday we complete the downhill walk to the end of the trail. We pass the Kachiqata quarry, which lies unfinished because of the Spanish invasion. We return to Ollantaytambo where we take the glass roofed tourist train to Machu Picchu Town. As you roll by watch the high mountains and flowing river. You will have the afternoon to relax or explore the town of Aguas Calientes which is nestled in the mountains with a beautiful river running along the length of the town.

        The Inca Trail: We wake up before the sun today at 3:45am to hike approximately 1.5 hours to the sun gate. We set off early to the final checkpoint which opens at 5:30am to hike the last 2 and a half hour stretch of trail before entering the site through the famous sun gate. Here we can find a spot to take it all in and watch the mist roll through the mountains around Machu Picchu citadel. Now we have the time to take a private tour with your guide who will bring the city to life with his knowledge of this wonder of the world.

        [The Quarry Trail:][1] An early rise of 5:30am to make the sunrise over Machu Picchu and beat the heat of the day. We take the 30 minute tourist bus up the winding mountain to Machu Picchu. Here we can find a spot to sit and take it all in. Watch the mist roll through the mountains around the Machu Picchu citadel and the sunrise over the ancient city. Now we have the time to take a private tour with your guide who will bring the city to life with his knowledge of this wonder of the world.

        As a group we travel back to Ollantaytambo on the train then onto Cusco in a private minibus.

          DAY 1: LIMA – AREQUIPA.

          Welcome at the airport and afternoon tour of the white city of Arequipa.

          DAY 2-3: AREQUIPA – VALLE DEL COLCA.

            In this unforgettable tour in the Tambopata National Reserve we will take you through exuberant landscapes, with thick forests, huge rivers, variety of birds, mammals, reptiles, and insects. You will visit the biggest representatives of the area: The Sandoval Lake where you can take a relaxing bath and the Parrot Licks where you will see hundreds of birds eating at the same time. You will also experience canopy and a coexistence with a native family, who live from what nature provides them.

            Itinerary

            Adia 1: PUERTO MALDONADO – ALBERGUE

            In the morning (according to arrival time): Reception at the airport or at the bus terminal and transfer to the office for the corresponding registrations.
            Transfer to the port where we will take the boat for an hour, to our cabin.
            Welcome meeting, with a refreshing juice based on fruits from our region and then settle in our respective rooms.
            After a restful break, you will have as an introduction a hike for two hours in the dense tropical forest, guided by an expert local guide, who will take you on our trails and appreciate a variety of trees that can easily be more than five hundred years old, as well as, You can observe some wild animal species such as toucans, orioles, macaws, monkeys, snakes, butterflies, etc.
            After lunch, we will visit the “Isla de los Monos”, located in front of our Lodge crossing the Madre de Dios River where we will find different species such as the family of capuchin monkeys and monkeys that live on the island.
            Return to the Lodge.

            In the evening we will go in search of white alligators that are usually on sandbanks, in the Madre de Dios River, for which a flashlight will be necessary. Also, we can see the Capibara, the largest rodent in the world that can weigh 60 kilos.
            Return to the lodge, dinner and rest.

            Day 2: CANOPY WALK-WAY

            5.30 am – We will make a short walk through the Canopy Walk-Way, over 30 meters high, which will allow us to appreciate nature from the highest possible. We will also have a panoramic view of the Madre de Dios River, observing, from the platforms, different species of birds such as toucans, macaws, tanagers, orioles, etc.
            After breakfast we prepare for a challenge activity on the trees more than 30 meters high. For this activity we will have an instructor guide who will give us a talk on how to use the safety harness for the Zip-line, feeling the adrenaline as it slides through the trees.
            Return toLodge. Lunch and rest.
            In the afternoon. The challenge is to cross the Madre de Dios River in Kayak. In the trip we can appreciate the fascinating sunset.

            Day 3: RETURN TO PUERTO MALDONADO

            Breakfast and return to the city.

              In this unforgettable tour in the National Reserve of Tambopata we will take you through lush landscapes, with thick forests, huge rivers, variety of birds, mammals, reptiles, and insects. You will visit the most representative of the area: Lake Sandoval where you can give yourself a relaxing bath and the Collpas de Loros where you will see hundreds of colorful birds eating at the same time. In addition you will experience the canopy and a coexistence with a native family, who live of what the nature provides them.

              Itinerary

              Day 1: Eco – Adventure in Tambopata

              This day we’ll pick you up in the airport or bus station and we’ll transfer to our eco lodge.  We begin our activities and trips after leaving our luggage in our lodging. Then we’ll begin with activities amid of the amazonic forest as the Canopy, climbing, crossing a hanging bridge and we’ll lunch ourselves in the zip line. Then we’ll taste a delicious lunch and enjoy a restful break. In the afternoon we will kayak on Madre de Dios river where we can swim in its waters to refresh ourselves. Afterwards we’ll visit the famous Monkey Island where we can see the great variety of species of this animals and we’ll enjoy their funny antics and grimaces. In the evening we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and we’ll have a short walk to see nocturnal birds before resting.

              Day 2: Sailing the Lake Sandoval

              After a good breakfast in the lodge, we’ll start our adventure boarding a boat that will take us to the checkpoint of Tambopata National Reserve where we’ll register. There we’ll walk until we get to the shore of the important Sandoval Lake, where we can see a huge variety of flora and possibly fauna and we can enjoy a delicious and relaxing bath in its waters (optional).

              Afterwards we’ll taste a traditional selvatic lunch, we will go by boat to stroll around the lake where we can observe different birds in flight like hoatzines, anhingas and possibly we’ll observe some playful river wolves.

              After this incredible experience we’ll return to the lodge for our dinner and take a rest.

              Day 3: Visiting a Native Family

              After a delicious breakfast, we visit a native family where we’ll have a demonstration  about their customs, and traditions. This indigenous villages make interesting products with rustic materials, and we can help them buying their products.

              We are going to board the boat and we’ll go to a creek for the fishing activity in the rustic way, where we can fish some types as damselfishes and sardines which we can taste in our lunch. In the afternoon we’ll return to the lodge, we’ll have dinner and take a rest.

              Day 4: Visiting the macow clay lick

              Early in the morning we’ll board a boat sailing in Madre de Dios River to reach an interesting place where we can see the arrival of a variety of parrots and possibly macaws at the clay lick , our guide will explain about the habit of these birds. You will have the opportunity to film or take pictures of this incredible activity of these species as well as the sunrise on Tambopata.

              At 7:00am we’ll return to the lodge to enjoy the last breakfast and return to the city of Puerto Maldonado. The schedule of your departure will depend on your itinerary of bus or flight.

                Itinerary

                Day 1: Cusco – Quillabamba (A, C)

                We left Cusco at 3:00 a.m. and we will enjoy a varied and striking landscape typical of the area. You will also enjoy the majesty of the Nevado Verónica and the typical dwellings of the inhabitants of Abra de Málaga.
                In Quillabamba we will stop for a moment to rest in the hotel, and then continue to bathe in the Seven Tinajas Waterfalls and on its beaches. Here we will have lunch.
                In the afternoon we will return to Quillabamba or Echerati to spend the night.

                Day 2: Quillbamba – Ivochote – Pongo de Mainique (B, L, D)

                We left very early at 3:00 a.m. to the town of Ivochote, where we will take a motorized canoe to the Pongo de Mainique. We will walk through the waterfalls and then we will go to the nearby beaches to enjoy the day in the jungle.

                  DAY 01: CUSCO – CLOUDY FOREST – ALBERGUE PAITITI

                  We start from Cuzco very early in the morning on our comfortable bus. We ascend to the upper area of ​​Paucartambo. On the way we visited the funerary towers or Chullpas de Ninamarca. Then we descend through the mysterious cloud forest, full of beautiful orchids, heliconias and primitive ferns.                   DAY 03: ALBERGUE PAITITI – COLLPA DE LOROS – COCHA MACHUHUASI – ALBERGUE PAITITI

                  Very early we left by boat to the green parrot collpa where 3 to 4 species of parrots are observed, then we return by boat to Machuhuasi where we will have a walk inside the forest, arriving at the Machuhuasi lagoon where
